Cyber Acoustics' CA-3550 2.1-channel system is set to rock your computer world with its high power output, easy setup, and wallet-friendly price. Whether you're listening to background music while you work or putting the system front and center for your gaming, the CA-3550 will deliver your audio with clarity and slam. The system consists of a pair of compact satellite speakers driven by 20 watts apiece (each with a 2.5-inch high-efficiency driver) and a powered, 26-watt subwoofer to round out the speakers' low end. A convenient desktop volume control lets you easily manage the system's playback level while you work or play. The satellites feature cloth grille covers, and the subwoofer is housed in an acoustically balanced wood cabinet with a ported, bass-reflex enclosure for extra low-end heft. I asked for these speakers and received them as a gift. They just don't sound great for music. The bass is great, but there are no controls for the treble, which I think is where a lot of the problems come in. The treble sounds way too high, and if you're used to more control (or just better speakers or headphones) these just aren't that. I'd almost rather listen to my laptop's speakers. And that's saying something.

I was between this or a $23 logitec 2.1 speaker set. I went with this set mainly because of its great reviews (except the occasional moron who use the set for television or complain because they can't mount it into the headrest of their bed). The wiring has plenty of length, I had lots of extra room to space them how I want(I had to re-wrap the extra wire with the twist ties). The lack of magnetic shielding on the woofer isn't a big deal unless you plan on stacking it on top of your tower. The sound quality is excellent for all my music (I listen to techno, rap, rock, classic rock, metal, and some of the gay but catchy hip hop, everything but country). The controls for the volume and woofer are convenient, and I keep the volume around 1/4 and the bass around 1/2 for loud music. I still have to turn the bass down for some of the rock and metal because it drowns out the vocals. I am amazed at the price (I was about to pay $60 at another site after shipping) with amazon's free shipping (from [...]). I received it two days after I purchased it (four days before estimated arrival). This was a great buy, I highly recommend it for all gaming and music. My brother is replacing his set of speakers with one of these now that he's seem mine.

i shopped for new spkrs for at least a month...going from retail outlet (via computer) to online search...i originally picked out the altec lansings but those were discontinued and though available are hard to find...stumbled across these...WOW!!!...i'm not easily inmpressed by much anymore...somethings has to WOW me to even consider them...while these are not BOSE at 300.00 it's comparing apples to oranges...they arrived on time...setup in less than 5minutes...the sound...remarkable for the price range...actually i would have to say exceptional for the price!!!it actually exceeds my estimate of wattage for the room being used...thank goodness for volume control...if you like music (and i have over 450 albums on my hard disk and am always creating playlists) or video games (i don't play them but think a videogamer would be very happy) these are the ones...i don't even see a reason why i would ever want to upgrade them...my friends say i have a masters degree in returns because i'm never satisfied...well not with these...i'll have to find something to else to "bitch" about and return so i can maintain my reputation!!!
