Summary: Good construction, hardware, and customer service

I purchased these from StudioTech directly, because I wanted a height that Amazon doesn't carry. However, other than the height, this reviews pertains to the exact product listed. StudioTech shipped these promptly, the finish is nice (a textured black metal, which has a matte finish due to the texture), and the hardware to assemble them seems to be high quality (e.g., large brass carpet spikes that look quite durable).

As simple as these were to assemble, I did have a question about how to use the hardware because I was going to be putting them on a hard surface where the carpet spikes were not appropriate. They had anticipated that (they provide little carpet spike "coasters" for use in that situation, but I didn't know that's what they were), and promptly explained it to me when I called customer service.

Overall, this is a simple product -- 3 pieces of metal with a little hardware to assemble it. I'd like to say that I shouldn't be that impressed because given the simplicity, how could you get it wrong? But, we all know that's not the case. Plenty of companies make stuff that arrives and doesn't look like you wanted, or has cheap (or even missing) hardware, etc. There were no problems at all with this order, and the customer serivce call took 1 minute. So, I am impressed. The only negative is the price (mine were about $125). You can certainly get cheaper stands, but I'd buy these again because they are exactly what I wanted, high quality, look good, and are easy to assemble.

Comment:
Solid metal construction and quality black finish. The only thing I would have liked would be a channel to run the speaker wire through the inside of the stand so it wouldn't be visible. You could mod them to add this feature, but that would require drilling several holes through thick metal. Since I have them on carpet, I added a few pounds of bbs for ballast. They are rock solid with medium size speakers. I have no fear of them falling over. I am pleased with my purchase.
