Product Description The HiFi Works 30020 HFW Rock Speakers are stone-shaped, outdoor garden speakers that blend in with most landscaping to provide great sound without even noticing a speaker. The all-weather plastic housing can withstand the elements throughout the seasons. The high-efficiency design allows the HFW to operate on as little as 10 watts of power, but it isn't sheepish -- this speaker can handle the heft of a wide range of home theater and stereo receivers (up to 80 watts). The speaker delivers high tones through the 0.625-inch tweeter that features a polycarbonate dome. The 5.25-inch subwoofer features a black polypropylene cone with a rubber surround seal that delivers deep, bumpin' bass tones. This pair of outdoor speakers are built to look just like ordinary garden stones and deliver outstanding sound that you and your guests will hear, but not see.

Comment:
Speakers arrived on time and packaged well. Easy to install. I have a 525 sq/ft patio and these sound great for what we use them for, which is primarily background or easy listening music.

Great outdoor speakers for price

Comment:
I typically only write reviews when products are very good or very bad. In this case, felt a duty to provide kudos to the HiFi Works rock speakers. I use them in a garden (hiden by large hosta plants) and think they sound very very good. I am an audiophile and have a high-end indoor system, and I think these speakers are very solid...for the price, they are a great buy.

Great Outdoor Speaker, Good Price

Comment:
These are great speakers for $31.00 each. The sound quality is very good, but will require an amplifier of some power to drive them. I use a Pyle 2x40 watt stereo amplifier and the volume control is over 1/2 for a good sound level. They have very good bass response. The people complaining about the sound quality are probably trying to drive these speakers with a low powered amplifier and getting no bass and a tinny sound. The leads are about 3 feet long with bare wires. I will need to add about 30 feet of 16 gage speaker wire to my indoor amplifier. Don't forget to make a water tight connection to the speaker leads. I live in snow country and I hope these speakers stand up to the harsh outside conditions.

Great sound, excellent value!

Comment:
Bought a pair for use by our pool, along with an outdoor subwoofer. I was really impressed by the sound quality. Much more bass than I thought and the highs came through nicely, as well. These are a terrific value, truly, and they look good, too. My only complaint is that the permanently installed leads can't be more than 16 gauge wired.

Comment:
I had been looking for a decent set of outdoor speakers for a while when I found these. The price was right, they didn't stick out in my patio area like a sore thumb so I decided to purchase two sets of them. I have them hooked up to a twelve year old Pioneer receiver inside my house, and they sound fantastic. Since the furthest speaker is over 50ft. from the receiver I decided to use some Malibu lighting wire (14 gauge) that I had left over from the patio lighting project. It is rated for outdoor use and it is direct burial. The install was straight forward, just don't reverse the polarity of the red and black wire on the back of the speaker or you will get no bass and the rest of it will sound tinny. I have an adapter to go from my IPOD to the receiver and I now sit out on the patio listening to music for hours and never a bad song. I strongly recommend this product; with a little planning, and an afternoon of work, you will have something that lasts for years and be the envy of the the neighborhood.
