These stands were exactly what I needed for my side surround and back surround speakers in my 7.1 system. They are well made and VERY sturdy. My speakers weigh about 15 pounds each, and these stands hold them with no problem. For the money, they can't be beat.

The speaker stands came nicely packaged and were very easy to put together. They're a perfect height for the front speakers - definitely recommend! :-)

I had been looking for a pair of stands to raise a pair of bookshelf speakers to the proper height for side surrounds in a 7+1 home theater system. The stands I had on hand were for larger units with the support pedestal only 24" high. I needed something in the 32" to 36" range. Unfortunately most of what's out there have miniscule support plates in the 4" x 4" range. Uber small speakers like the vintage Radio Shack Minimus-7 would work for those but not more substantial units twice that size and with double figures for weight. These with their 7" x 7" are much more usable at 36".

After working up a list of possibilities from various manufacturers sites, I started looking at street prices. I was astounded when I found these at $40.03 shipped as the next cheapest I'd found for them was $119 shipped. Reviews were pretty favorable with only one guy complaining about stability. For the price (now an astonishing $38.03 /pair shipped as I write this) I figured I couldn't go wrong.

Assembly was straight forward and using the adjustable spike feet provided a solid support for my bookshelf surround speakers. The titanium color looks a great deal better in person than in the pictures. Having my side surrounds now at ear level makes an enormous difference in their utility as part of a home theater 7+1 speaker system. As an aside I'm running DefTech BP8B /CLR2002 front / center speakers with an Outlaw (Hsu designed) subwoofer. I personally prefer bi-polar radiators and use biamped modified Magneplanar MGIIIa augmented with a custom 18" sub in my separate stereo system... they're bi-polar too :)

Bottom line is that if you need a very well built solid platform for your surround speakers that can be had for a veritable song.... run, don't walk to take advantage of this deal from the good folks at Amazon and Bell'O :)
