I decided to go with the real Definitive brackets figuring they were made for the speakers. Good choice.... they stay put where you tighten them. I have had them up for 3 weeks and they are still perfect so I bought another set for the other pair.

Don't waste your money on these useless mounts! I spent $40.00 on two tiny pieces of plastic and they didn't even have the courtesy to throw in the 4 screws needed to fasten them to the wall. Seriously, would that have cost them 25 cents to throw them in!? I used the mounts for my ProMoniter 1000 speakers and instantly found that they were way too heavy for the mounts. You couldn't screw them tight enough so that they weren't sagging to the floor. I later found in the directions that they suggest you use a 'security cable', which of course is not included! Again...for $40.00 how about throwing in the clearly needed cable! And because I couldn't put the screws directly into studs, the weight of the speakers was pulling my plastic fastners out of the drywall. I discovered that is was much easier to lose the mounts and hang the speaker on 1 screw directly in the wall. It actually looks better than using the mounts, which are hidden by the speakers anyway. So to sum it up...save your $40.00 and invest in two 4 cent screws. I can't wait to return these things and spend my hard earned money on something more useful.

Worked ok for Def Tech 1000's and better for the 800's

Comment:
Bought these Def Tech Pro Mount 80 brackets to mount my Definitive Technology Pro Monitor 1000's(front Mains) and Pro Monitor 800's(Rear Surround). The brackets mount easily to the wall, especially if you can grab a stud. If not those wall anchors are necessary(better get good anchors for heavier speakers). The brackets hold the 800's great. Only needed to hand tighten the clamp and the speakers weren't moving. The 1000's however, because they are heavier, required more than just hand tightening the clamp. I needed to tighten it using channel lock pliers. Once I did that the 1000's didn't move/sag down out of position from the weight of the speaker. They make Pro Mount 90's which might be better for the 1000's, but BB did not have them and I did not want to wait. The 80's worked anyway, even for the 1000's, once I tightened the clamp with pliers. So far so good.

Do not buy these mounts. I got them for my Def tech Promonitor 1000. Granted they are not for these speakers but i dont see how they could hold anything more than a 3 pounds with out having some kind of problem with them.Mione stay as long as nothing brushes against the speakers. Had to use channel locks to tighten screw enough for them to hold. Def tech recently came out with new mounts that hold like a vise. They are the Promount 90. Promount 90 are the mounts to get.
