Great Quality, Affordable Price

Comment:
I am a home audio/visual amateur and certainly not a techie. About a year ago I purchased a Panasonic 50" Plasma HDTV. Although my home has built-in surround sound speakers in the ceiling, the rest of my system consisted of castoffs and mismatched speakers acquired over a long period of years. I subsequently added an Onkyo SKW204 Bass Reflex powered subwoofer and was amazed at the enhanced sound quality of my system. My Bose bookshelf speakers seemed adequate but over time, I grew increasingy discontented with the poor sound quality and performance from my center speaker that I had inherited somewhere along the line. I knew there had to be something better than what I was hearing.
After researching quality and price, I purchased the Polk Audio CS10 Center Channel Speaker and have been a very happy camper since. The sound is great, enjoyable, and, certainly powerful. The tinny sounding voices from my old unit have been replaced with strong, clear, crisp, and concise voices and center channel action. I notice the fantastic improvement especially when I watch a non-surround sound program or a program where most of the activity is center channel conversation. And the clarity of music and Blu Ray DVDs is noticeably enhanced by this speaker. I suspect my next purchase will be to match Polk Audio shelf speakers to this CS10 Center Channel Speaker. I highly recommend this speaker to those seeking more quality at a fair price.
Comment:
Provides dramatic, clear sound from behind flat-screen monitor.
Complemented by pair of L/R wall speakers, ceiling speakers, and subwoofer -- all Polk speakers.
All are beautiful-looking; unfortunately, all are hidden, except subwoofer.

Hard to beat for the price

Comment:
Are there better center channels out there? Of course! Are you going to pay less than $150 (be a patient shopper) for one that sounds as clean as this one? Probably not.
Polk does an amazing job creating quality products at an affordable price. Within my budget, this one stood out the most. It is extremely clear without being too harsh. I'd attribute that to the silk dome tweeter that Polk loves to use. Dialogue is crisp and powerful and I've had no problems hearing anything. It also matches timbre perfectly with my Polk TSi300's. That right there is an extremely important attribute that everyone should pay attention to when picking speakers.
Ultimately, let your ears do the talking. I've found that Polk, Boston Acoustics, and Definitive Technology all make quality products within a reasonable budget.
Oh, and don't be afraid to buy open box items at Best Buy. It has saved me a lot of money!

CS10 Sounds good with a decent price

Comment:
I purchased the Polk CS10 center channel speaker to go with the Polk ceilings speakers, an 8" subwoofer, and Yamaha RX-V765 receiver. This speaker sounds pretty good for the price. I had Polk speakers before and had been pretty happy with them. My old Polk speakers lasted a long time and sounded great as does this one. I almost went with the CS20 but it was a little bit large for my preference and $100 more, so I went with the CS10 and it sounds pretty good. I would highly recommend this speaker for anyone on a budget.
Comment:
For the price I have been very impressed with the overall sound quality of this speaker as part of my home theater. I didn't want to invest big bucks for my basement theater and this speaker have delivered great sound for the buck. I stayed with the compatable rear surround ceiling speakers, in-wall speakers and sub woofer.
